Thursday morning I stopped by the J.Jill preview before running uptown to work. Several women I know are huge fans of J.Jill, and you might remember one of my black sweaters as being J.Jill (recently worn in the rain and on the East River). I always associate J.Jill with quality basics and classic styles.

In the past I remember seeing a lot of neutrals, but this year’s fall collection appears to be filled with a number of vibrant oranges and reds. I adored a leather skirt and matching blazer.

I loved these herringbone loafers, and there’s an amazing selection of all kinds of boots as well. If you’re looking for riding boots I suggest you check out J.Jill!

Overall the collection was very soft and pretty, and I definitely appreciated the bold use of color– especially the reds. The gift bag included something in a lovely color called spice heather, so look for me to style that when it’s sweater weather.

Eh, maybe in 15 years.
I totally agree: the first things I think of are quality basics and classic styles, too.
I don’t think I’ve ever shopped J. Jill before. I do love the loafers you snapped- so cute!
I love how the mannequins are lined up like a little army. The printed wrap/shawl is so lovely.
i used to shop there occasionally, but find the clothes to just be too flowy and free fitting if that makes sense. they do always have cute shoes though

Yes, I do know exactly what you mean. I find that some of the styles are a little too overwhelming for petite frames.
